RackHigh Launches On-Demand NAS and SAN Storage Solutions

Saudi Arabian web hosting and cloud hosting provider RackHigh announced on Wednesday it has launched its on-demand Network Attached Storage and IP-based Storage Area Network offerings.
RackHigh says the new services are designed to better serve customers’ needs and provide more scalable and high performance storage options.
The company is currently offering a special promotional pricing of the new NAS and SAN services starting at $0.04 per GB.
Separately, RackHigh is also offering free back-ups for life on its entire line of Saudi dedicated servers.
“We continuously listen to our customers to help gauge where we need to expand our products and services, and our customers asked for more cost effective, scalable storage and recovery options,” said Shafiq Ur Rehman, CEO at RackHigh. “Any organization that needs a server needs a storage and backup solution; it’s precarious to have one without the others. Our new offerings unequivocally meet customer demands with affordable price points that disrupt the industry — comparable competitive offerings are 10 times more expensive than our new offerings.”
NAS is specifically designed to be a filer and is especially ideal for backups, file archiving, and storage of webhead content, whereas SAN was built for block storage so that there are volumes to partition and mount.
The new on-demand storage solutions offer a range of features, including being optimized for storage, fully managed, easy set-up where users map a drive (on Windows) or mount a directory over NFS (on Linux) for heterogeneous access to files, the ability to simultaneously share files with multiple servers including virtual servers, and local appearance with block storage appearing as local drives.
RackHigh developed the new solutions to more efficiently and effectively serve Windows and Linux customers in need of scale-out storage.
The company says the NAS and SAN storage are organizations that are comfortable with network-bound performance and do not need Host Bus Adapters, as well as those customers needing storage for media, back-ups, files or additional storage for virtualization.
RackHigh provides Saudi cloud hosting, managed hosting, and dedicated server hosting to over 2,000 customers worldwide from its more than 250,000 square feet of data center space.
